Who Likes Watching Ear wax Videos

Image
I know one person who likes watching those ear wax videos on YouTube, and that is my wife.  She recently started watching these videos. She finds these videos fascinating. She tries her best to get me to watch them with her. I, on the other hand, am not so fascinated by them. I find them icky! Eww!! After watching these rather awkward movies, I started wondering about the cameras they were using to make these strange trips into people's ears. They are called Endoscopes. They are an instrument in medicine that allows you to look into a small opening in the human body and see what is there. They means that they can look down your throat, up your nose, in your ear, etc. After finding out what an endoscope is, I decided I should get one, just to see how I can use one. I ordered it, and within two weeks, it arrived. The packaging that it came in was not impressive but everything was good. I opened it and saw that it had many interesting attachments. The video from YouTube tha...

How I Repaired Our Mitsubishi DLP TV

Image
The repairs needed for our Mitsubishi television had to be done. The TV was just the right size for our living room plus it was a gift from my wife's uncle (THANK YOU!!). After doing some research through the Google search engine on the internet about this tv and viewing some helpful videos on YouTube on how to fix the white and black dots problem and the very dim picture that this tv was suffering from, my wife and I decided it was worth the time, effort, and money needed to make the repairs to the tv.  The time and effort part was mine, The money part of the deal was my wife's (THANK YOU!!!) The research that I did in Google  about the particular black and white dots problem revealed that the DLP chip was the culprit. My research also revealed that the failing lamp inside the tv was the reason for the dim picture.  After watching several videos on YouTube about the DLP chip ( and it's technology), and on how to replace it and the failing lamp, I immediately w...

My Adventure With An Electric Chainsaw

Image
It all started with someone from my wife's side of the family leaving some interesting things we could use around the house. One of those interesting things was an electric chainsaw.  Now that we had these things, it was time to do some work around the house. The first main major thing that needed to be done was the tree that had fallen and was laying on it's side on our front lawn. It had been like that for awhile from the Winter snow storm that happened two years ago.   When the snow from that winter started melting, it made the ground that the tree was on really soggy and soft, which allowed the tree to tip over. Since, up to now, we didn't have a chainsaw to immediately cut the tree, all I have been doing was just trimming it to make it look nice, even though it was laying on it's side. Still, people did notice it laying down like it was taking a nap. Something had to be done. When the chainsaw showed up, it was go time! My original plan was to...

How To Turn Your Xbox 360 Kinect Sensor Into a Webcam For Skype Using Kinect For Windows SDK 1.8

Image
Before you read this blog, Here is a video summary of what you will be doing in this blog.  One day, I got really curious about my Xbox 360 Kinect Sensor . I wondered if there was some way to use it as a webcam on my Windows 7 64 bit computer?  Well, after many exhaustive searches on Google, watching a bunch of Youtube videos, and after trying out many files on my computer to get it to work ( while neglecting my wife, which I REALLY did not like doing), I finally got it to work. Note: As far as I know, this will only work with the Xbox 360 Kinect Sensor . ( it MAY also work with the Kinect For Windows as well. I have not tested that out yet) To get one, click HERE . It should work on you computer as long as it is a Windows ( 7 and above) computer. I am not really sure about that but here is how I did it on mine: Download version 1.8 of the Microsoft Kinect For Windows SDK by clicking HERE . When you get there, be sure to read the system requirements ...
